Throughout the day she writes ads and inputs them into the database; this is done when she would normally be stepping away from the transcription to take a break. At the end of the day, when her children return from school, she has accomplished her full work day and produced twice the amount of work that a traditional employee would have accomplished. Plus, she does the laundry in between keystrokes!

Not all companies allow such flexibility, so it could vary based on each company hiring, but most work-at-home jobs are this flexible and thousands of people do it every day.

To be sure, the opportunities to work at home are much more prevalent now than they ever were. With each new field that opens up to home workers or telecommuters, the opportunities increase by the hundreds and thousands. The work-at-home employee now has far more choices than employees have ever had. The only limits are those you place on yourself.
