WORK FROM HOME TIPS
Looking for that work from home job that will free you from the binds of that nine to five? It is easier said than done. Wanting to work out of the comfort of your in your "pajamas" is quite a task in itself. Just like the corporate world (or even the civil service world) you have to prove yourself worthy of the job. Here are some tips you make it a little less confusing and hassle free:
1) Act like you are in the office
Just because you are working out of the comfort of your office, does not mean you can slack off and not do what is required for the company you work for. You are expected to be on time and ready to work, just like the outside world and assigned tasks have to be correct and done in a timely manner. The only difference is that you can take lunch and breaks at your leisure. But, don't go overboard; that doesn't look good in the corporate/civil service world, nor would it look good being at home.
2) Be Organized
The fact that you are in the house, does not mean you can't be neat and clean and organized. Always have a "to do list" which requires how your schedule will dictate the flow of your day. Even though your employer is not with you, expectations are just as high, if not higher to make sure the work gets done and accountability stays intact. That is the whole reason companies hire work at home agents, it makes it easier on them and you and have to make sure that if any issues arise, you are able to rectify it immediately without having to fumble looking for things.
3) Accessibility is the Key
This really should be at the top of the list, but I have to really stress that this is extremely important. Managers get extremely leery of work at home agents who suddenly "go missing" for long periods of time. When an issue arises, companies want to make sure you are on top of your game and ready to tackle problems as soon as they appear. Trust is a big issue and once it is broken, it is very hard to regain. Chats are the common use of communication nowadays and you have to be able to be "seen" at any given point and time. Bosses want to be able to call you up or "chat" at a minute's notice, so you would not want to be caught "with your pants down" so to speak. Be ready and you will not have any problems.
But, you do not need to constantly contact your managers or fellow agents with voice and emails proving that you are in the vicinity. Since you're not going to be in front of them as much as you would being in an office, just make sure you let them know on occasion that you are on the job and working and doing what is expected of you.
If you do all of the above, working from home will be a breeze!
